Walks and the River Wey

Discover the Surrey Hills

From idyllic walks to the Church of St Martha’s, the tower on Chinthurst Hill, along the river to Godalming or Guildford, or perhaps along the Pilgrims Way to the Watts Gallery, Shalford is spoilt for choice for the avid walker, runner , careful cyclist or dog walker.
A regular spot for kayakers, stand-up paddle-boarders and canoeists alike, the stretch of river running through the village has stunning views and calm waters, and is a wonderful way to spend your day before enjoying some well-earned refreshment from our local pubs, café and restaurants.

Visit Shalford Mill

And don’t forget to visit Shalford Mill, an historic 18th century watermill set in a beautiful location on the River Tillingbourne in the heart of our village. You can see all the old workings of the mill and be transported back in time with the help of the National Trust guides who tell stories of its past importance to village life.
