Shalford life

An idyllic village in the heart of the Surrey Hills, Shalford is home to thriving businesses, a passionate community and a host to a whole range of fantastic activities and events. There’s something for everyone!

The Great Fair of Shalford returns in 2023

We are planning another Great Fair of Shalford, bigger and better than the last event, on Shalford Common on the 3rd September 2023: Once again we hope the Fair will bring the village together for the day.

Our Not for Profit Community Interest Company SHALFORD LIFE is organising the Great Fair, and if you would like to help please get in touch with us.

There will be the usual fun and shenanigans: Live music form a number of bands, a beer tent, cocktails and gin and tonics, a barbecue and ice cream, candy floss, dog show, bouncy castle and face painting for the kids. And a whole host of stalls to keep the whole family happy

  • When: Sunday 3rd September
  • Where: Shalford Common
  • Why: To celebrate our amazing village
  • Who: Everyone is welcome

All profits will go to support the community by sponsoring local charitable causes and creating events like this that bring us all together.

If you’d like to be the part of this (and or future events) please get in contact:

Welcome to a little slice of heaven.

A mere stone’s throw from the bustling county town of Guildford, Shalford is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with breathtaking views across the Surrey Hills and easy access to the North Downs via the Pilgrims Way as well as the tranquil paths along the River Wey and River Tillingbourne.

Shalford is home to a vibrant array of local shops   including a picturesque café on the cricket green, a handful of wonderful pubs and restaurants  as well as excellent schools, a tennis and bowling club and a railway station ready to whisk you away to London, Gatwick or the West of England.

Thanks to its wonderful and diverse community it is an amazing place to live, work and play and last year celebrated the end of lockdown by staging the return of The Great Fair of Shalford.

Time to look forward to celebrations for this year and next year. What will 2023 bring for the residents of Shalford?

Life is a carnival. You wait in long lines to enjoy a short ride, but it is that moment that makes you feel ALIVE!

A vibrant community that supports each other and looks after our environment.
